NIHP and Twin Cities Public
Television (TPT) plan Part 2 of "Decoding Part D: Medicare's
Prescription Drug Benefit"
Stay tuned in late April for the
broadcast of Part 2 of the public television program on Medicare's
prescription drug Benefit. NIHP, along with TPT and the Minnesota
Senior Federation will uncover why some beneficiaries have not yet
signed up for the benefit. The program will direct people to the
appropriate resources that can assist them in making the decision of
whether or not to sign up.
Medicare Part D, Part 1:
The NIHP/TPT/MN Senior Federation
partnership produced a public television program to assist
seniors in making decisions about their prescription drug coverage.
“Decoding Part
D: Medicare’s Prescription Drug Benefit” premiered November 26 at 8:00pm on TPT Channel
17. It was re-broadcasted several times throughout the following
months.
The program,
co-hosted by TPT’s Fred De Sam Lazaro and NIHP’s David Durenberger,
included expert panelists Stephen Schondelmeyer, University of Minnesota
College of Pharmacy; Dr. Benjamin Witten, Minnesota Medical Association;
Peter Wyckoff and Janine Stiles, Minnesota Senior Federation; and Kellie
Jo Greiner, Minnesota Board on Aging.
Thank you to the NIHP
members who provided funding support for the project: Blue
Cross Blue Shield of
Minnesota,
HealthPartners, Medica, and UCare Minnesota.
